Our Saas Solution
SynaptiQ is 3E’s SaaS product, an independent, evolutionary software suite for asset management of renewable energy portfolios (more information on http://www.3e.eu/synaptiq). SynaptiQ collects near-real time data of more than 20 million devices spread over 10 thousands utility scale and commercial solar and wind sites spread all over the globe.
We develop and operate advanced analytical services to enrich the monitoring data by:
- satellite imaging data,
- meteorological modelling,
- advanced system modelling,
- machine learning & artificial intelligence.
The platform combines domains related to big data, high-performance processing, IoT protocols and AI and is the product of the interactions between a multidisciplinary team of developers, scientists, renewable energy architects, electrical engineers, and enthusiast sales that implement, operate and commercialize SynaptiQ worldwide.
What you will be doing
As our operations are expanding, we are looking for a talented Senior DevOps Lead to support us in designing, developing, and maintaining our hybrid cloud-based and on-premise infrastructures. You will work closely with our CTO & Head of Infrastructure and take the lead on our DevOps team of four people.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
- Take the lead on the DevOps team of four people (3 junior, 1 senior).
- Lead and mentor the DevOps team, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day work and professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Development, QA, and Product Management, to drive continuous improvement of the development process.
- Establish and maintain a strong culture of automation, monitoring, and testing across the entire development lifecycle.
Infrastructure and Automation
- Define the roadmap and architecture of the service infrastructure.
- Budget for capacity, reliability, and scalability according to business objectives.
- Structure service deployment automation in our big-data SaaS environment.
- Take ownership of the SLA on services uptime and performance.
- Support developers with deploying services in production.
- Optimize the performance of our systems by leveraging your strong experience in Linux.
- Help drive the future migration of our systems to the cloud.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend new technologies and approaches to improve our infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime in the event of a system outage or failure.
Documentation and Communication
- Develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure and processes to ensure continuity of knowledge and efficient onboarding of new team members.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Skilled in persuasive communication and negotiation with management regarding specific directions, approaches, and strategies.
- Lead and facilitate regular team meetings and sprint retrospectives to encourage communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Testing and Deployment
- Work with the team to develop and implement monitoring and alerting solutions.
- Design and implement automation solutions to increase efficiency and reduce the risk of human error.
- Work with the development team to establish best practices for deployment and delivery of software to production.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to improve infrastructure automation, monitoring, and testing.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and optimization of the infrastructure and services.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure automation.
Our ideal candidate
We're looking for someone who is passionate about DevOps and loves to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices. You'll have the chance to build and manage scalable, fault-tolerant systems that can handle rapid growth and high traffic, all while maintaining a strong culture of automation, monitoring, and testing.
What’s important for us:
- A master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, or a similar field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a DevOps role, including 2-3 years of experience in managing DevOps activities in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Strong experience in Linux administration and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Strong conceptualization and architecture skills.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to persuade and negotiate regarding specific directions, approaches, and strategies when speaking with management.
- Experience with automation tools such as bash and/or python.
What gives you extra points:
- Familiarity with cloud-based systems, tools, and best practices.
- Familiarity with IoT and OT is a plus.
- Experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus.
