What you will be doing

THE TEAM

3E’s Business Innovation teams work on the commercialization and ‘go-to-market’ implementation of new SaaS technologies within the 3E suite.

In particular, you will be joining the ‘3E Live’ Business Innovation team which focuses on three pillars:

  • The 3E platform that will serve as backbone to run all SaaS solutions and allows for cross-selling within the 3E suite
  • The 3E data solutions which include solar & wind data and component benchmarking data
  • The automated consultancy services

You will join a team of engineers with an entrepreneurial mindset!

THE JOB

We are looking for a passionate business developer and entrepreneur who’s ready to dedicate full passion and energy into the commercial growth of the 3E data solutions. The end goal for 3E is to become one of the Top 3 data suppliers within the renewable energy market by the end of 2021.

As owner of this ambition, you will be responsible to:

  • Rapidly familiarize yourself with the renewable energy data market including a competitor analysis, client analysis, ....

Based on that market knowledge you:

  • Shape 3E’s market position and you define a value proposition for the different data solutions.
  • You assist the team improving the packaging of the data solutions
  • You define a successful go-to-market strategy
  • You define an ambitious and bold commercial plan, using your market knowledge and feeling of customer needs

In the next phase you steer the implementation of your plans and ideas including:

  • Participation to events, fairs,...
  • Pro-active sales to 3E’s existing customers as well as the hunt for new customers
  • Proposal preparation and contract negotiations
  • ...

Our ideal candidate

Our ideal candidate is an entrepreneur who quickly feels the market needs and is able to distillate that into a successful go-to-market strategy. You are an “opener” which means that you enjoy approaching potential new clients, you are a great networker and you love to think beyond the obvious. You are furthermore at ease in the role of “closer” which means that you can quickly qualify or disqualify a lead and you are ready to ask the killer question that will move the prospect from a lead into a signed deal in a smooth and efficient way.

You show excellent communication skills, both internally as well as externally and you are willing to walk the extra mile to achieve the team’s targets.

Furthermore:

  • You hold a Master degree in (commercial) engineering, applied economics or equivalent by experience
  • You have minimum 7 years of working experience in a technical sales position.
  • You speak, read and write fluently in English. Any other language is a plus.
  • You can show a track record in bringing innovative, preferably digital, business models to the market
  • You're eager and hungry to conquer the data analytics world
  • Customer-focused with a strong commercial sense, rigorous and pro-active is what describes you as a business developer
  • You have a flexible and entrepreneurial mentality while being analytical, innovative and creative
  • You are willing to travel when needed
  • Experience in the wind and/or solar sector is a plus
